McDonoghville

This marker, located in the Franklin Street median between Virgil and Wiedman streets in Gretna, commemorates the historic community of McDonoghville.


Thomas Jefferson Statue

This bronze statue greets visitors to the Jefferson Parish General Government Building located at 200 Derbigny Street in Gretna. The monument was dedicated December 6, 1975 by the Jefferson Parish Historical Commission.

Jefferson Memorial Arch

Jefferson Davis Highway Monument

This marker, located in the median of Huey P. Long Avenue between 1st and 2nd Streets in Gretna, was erected by the United Daughters of the Confederacy to mark Jefferson Davis Highway, a nation-wide project, in honor of Jefferson Davis, the President of the Confederate States of America.


Gretna High School Site Monument

This marker, located in the median of Huey P. Long Avenue between 10th and 11th Streets in Gretna, marks the site of Gretna High School (1928-1955), later Gretna Junior High School. Arsonists destroyed the building in 1975.

This marker, located in the median of Huey P. Long Avenue between 10th and 11th Streets in Gretna, greets Gretna visitors from the south. On the granite wall are the names of Gretnaites who died while serving their country in World War II.


William Tell Hall Centennial Plaque

This plaque, purchased by the Jefferson Parish Historical Commission in 1984, commemorates the 100th anniversary of Gretna as the seat of government of Jefferson Parish. The William Tell Hall served as the Jefferson Parish Courthouse from 1884 to 1907.
