On Friday, October 17, the Westwego Theater (177 Sala Avenue) will host a performance of As Long as the Earth Lasts, written by Professor John Doucet of Nicholls State.
The evening will begin at 7:00 PM with a brief talk by Professor Doucet, followed by the play. The play only, will be repeated on Saturday October 18.

As Long as the Earth Lasts or Tant que Durera la Terre, tells the theatrical story of Cheniere Caminada, the coastal Louisiana fishing village destroyed by the Great Hurricane of 1893. Based on historical narratives and legends, the play reflects the imagined survival story of his great-great-grandfather, John Frederique Rebstock.
This production, presented in partnership with The Nicholls Players, tells the story of resilience, survival, and the origins of Westwego.
