School Board Census

Uncover your family history with the 1927 Jefferson Parish School Board Census. Conducted every four years, these censuses offer a treasure trove of information for genealogists. This particular enumeration aimed to list every “educable” child residing in Jefferson Parish, ranging from ages 6 to 18. Alongside each child’s name, you’ll find the name of a parent or guardian and an “address,” which could range from a specific street number and name to just a street or simply a community.

The Jefferson Historical Society expresses its sincere gratitude to the Jefferson Parish Historical Commission for their vital support in funding the digitization of this valuable resource.
