Publications A variety of publications were researched and written in an effort to preserve the history of Jefferson Parish. Both the Jefferson Parish Historical Commission and the Jefferson Historical Society of Louisiana seek to provide interested parties with information about Jefferson Parish History. The Jefferson Parish Historical Commission publishes monographs. The series of monographs, produced periodically since 1977, is a body of works which focus on a broad aspect of parish history. These notebooks, also produced periodically, focus on a narrow aspect of Jefferson Parish history. This periodical focuses primarily on that organization's current events, as well as other newsworthy items of interest to Jefferson Parish history. Other books about Jefferson Parish history which do not fit the scope and format of the above listed publications occasionally have been published independently of the Commission and the Society.
